Method to Grow Spiritually

Spirituality is a beautiful and personal journey. It is not something that has a final destination. The more we walk this path, the more we grow, and the more our inner light shines. There is no limit to how far we can go spiritually. Just like scientists say there are millions of Earth-like planets in the universe, the same way the spiritual world also has no end. No one has ever claimed to reach the final point of spirituality because it keeps going deeper and deeper.

Insights of Sant Gobind Ram Ji

Sant Ji, a respected spiritual master, has shared his deep wisdom about spirituality. Sant Ji explains that true spiritual teachers, those who have reached high levels of spiritual awareness, often speak very little about their experiences. That’s because some things can only be felt, not explained.

Sant Ji says, “Just like the smell of flowers in a garden can only be enjoyed by being there, spiritual experiences are hard to put into words. Those who have reached higher states often speak less and share their wisdom with only a few sincere seekers.”

Different Types of Spiritual Energy

Sant Ji explains that spirituality is made up of many types of energy. On the path of Sant Marg (the path shown by saints), we don’t need to forcefully awaken the powerful energy centers in our body (known as Kundalini). Instead, we are guided to connect with a pure and balanced energy through the help of a spiritual master.

In the spiritual path, we focus on simplicity, especially the simple but powerful practice of chanting (repeating divine names/words). This keeps our mind calm, our heart open, and our focus on the divine.

Steps to Grow Spiritually

Growing spiritually doesn’t happen all at once. Just like completing an entire semester requires time and patience, enhancing one's spirituality also takes time to flourish. Spirituality takes time, effort, and patience. Here are some simple steps we can follow to grow on this path:

  1. Learn to Sit in Peace
Start by sitting quietly every day. Even a few minutes of stillness can help calm your thoughts.
  2. Practice Breathing Techniques
Deep, gentle breathing helps relax the body and clear the mind.
  3. Follow the Master’s Guidance
Listen to and follow the instructions given by your spiritual teacher. Their experience will guide you safely.
  4. Feel the Vibrations
With regular practice, you may begin to feel positive energy or peaceful vibrations within.
  5. Stay Awake and Aware
Don’t let your mind wander during spiritual practice. Try to stay fully present.
  6. Be Consistent
Practice daily, even if it’s just for a short time. Regular effort builds inner strength.
  7. Chant and Stay Focused
Repeat the name of the Divine or a sacred mantra with love and attention.
  8. Keep Good Habits
Eat well, speak kindly, and live simply. Your lifestyle supports your spiritual growth.
  9. Cleanse Your Thoughts
Try to think positively and avoid negative or harmful thoughts. A clean mind invites peace.

This may sound easy, yet it requires guidance, just like when we're heading to an unknown place, we need a GPS or map to guide us. A true spiritual master plays a vital role, making every step possible with the right, positive energy.

Spiritual growth is not about big miracles or dramatic changes. It’s about small, steady steps that lead to a peaceful, happy life. With the help of a true spiritual master and regular practice, anyone can grow spiritually. The journey may be long, but every step brings us closer to our true self and fills our life with joy, peace, and purpose.
