Spiritual Class: Learning About the Soul
In life, we all go through school to learn important things like reading, writing, and how to make a living. Our parents are our first teachers, and they guide us when we are young. But to get a full education, we go to schools and colleges, and we keep learning.
In the same way, if we want to grow in our spiritual life, understand our soul, the purpose of life, and how to live in peace, we also need proper guidance. Just doing the religious rituals we saw our parents doing is not always enough. We need to go deeper and understand the real meaning behind life and spirituality.
Sant Ji explains that just like we need teachers for our regular studies, we also need a spiritual master who can guide us on this inner journey.
Finding a True Spiritual Master
There are many spiritual teachers in the world today, each sharing their own knowledge and experience. Some teach meditation, some talk about peace, and some share messages of love and kindness.
But how do we find the right spiritual master for ourselves?
It’s like searching for a precious pearl deep in the ocean. We have to search with care, patience, and an open heart. Just like we don’t buy something expensive without checking if it’s good, we also should look for a spiritual master with the best understanding and feel a connection.
It’s okay to visit different spiritual places, listen to different teachers, and explore what feels right. The most important thing is to find peace inside when we are in the presence of the teacher. A true master helps our soul feel calm and inspired, not confused or pressured.
We should not feel guilty about looking around. This journey is personal. Everyone’s path is different, and it’s good to take time to find the right guide.

What a True Spiritual Master Does
Sant Gobind Ram Ji (Sant Ji) says, in school, we often like the teacher who praises us and makes us feel good. But the teachers who really help us grow are the ones who correct our mistakes and push us to do better. Not surprising, those teachers are in our hate list.
Same way a true spiritual master plays the crucial role. They don’t just say nice things to make us feel good. Instead, they help us see the things we need to improve, like our bad habits, negative thinking, and the karma we carry from the past.
At first, this can be hard. We might feel uncomfortable or not want to face our mistakes. But with the master’s guidance, we slowly begin to change. Through practices like meditation and listening to the Satsangs (spiritual discourse), we start to feel more peaceful, more aware, and more connected to our true self.
The master doesn’t just teach us; they help us grow and transform from within. Their presence and words slowly awaken something powerful inside us. They help us see life in a new way, not just as a routine, but as a beautiful journey full of meaning.
A Journey of the Soul
Spiritual learning is not just about reading holy books or doing rituals. It’s about knowing who we really are, why we are here, and how to live with peace, love, and truth.
To do this, we need a true guide, a spiritual master who can show us the way.
Let’s begin this journey with a sincere heart. Let’s take time to find the right teacher. Let’s meditate, reflect, and be open to learning. When we find the right master, everything begins to change our thoughts, our actions, and even the way we see the world.
As Sant Gobind Ram Ji (Sant Ji) says, “Spiritual learning is not about adding something new. It’s about remembering what you already are.”
