Finding the Spiritual Version of Own Self

Finding the Spiritual Version of Own Self: A Simple Spiritual Reflection Inspired by Sant Gobind Ram Ji

Sometimes, out of nowhere, a wave of emotion hits us. We pause and wonder. Even with everything we have achieved so far like a good job, loving family, friends, and financial stability, why does something still feel missing?

There is a strange emptiness inside. We might even feel like crying without knowing why. In those quiet moments, it feels like the soul is asking the body,
“Where am I really going in life? Am I truly happy inside?”

Most of us stay so busy with everyday responsibilities that we forget to connect with ourselves. Not just physically or mentally, but spiritually too.

Who Are We, Really?

We often describe ourselves by what we do. 'I am a teacher. I am a parent. I run a business. But beyond all those roles, who are we?

Sant Gobind Ram Ji often reminded us, “We are not just this body or this mind. Deep within, we are souls. We are small sparks of the Divine”
We have lived many lives, and this journey continues until we merge completely with the Almighty and find lasting peace.

Where Are We Spiritually?

Are we truly connected with our inner self? Are the rituals we perform every day giving us real satisfaction? Or are we simply going through the motions?

What is happening in our inner world? Are we growing spiritually? Are we at peace?
Sant Gobind Ram Ji reminds us to ask ourselves, “You are living, but are you truly awake?”
That question makes us think. Because often, we realize we are not where we really want to be. We are just stuck in old habits and routines.

Are We Supposed to Be Where We Are?

Whatever is happening in our life right now, whether it feels good or challenging, is a part of our journey. There is a reason behind it, even if it is not clear at the moment. Life is not just about comfort. It is about learning, growing, and progressing.
Sant Gobind Ram Ji would say,
“Accept where you are, but do not stay there forever. Keep moving forward. Keep growing spirituality by chanting within.”

How Do We Start Changing?

Instead of judging others and being upset. We need to focus on our karmas, our deeds, actions we carry as our habit. We lose patience very quickly and hold onto ego or jealousy. The beautiful truth is that change is possible. Slowly, with awareness and love, we can transform ourselves.

Here are a few small steps that help:

  • Notice our reactions. Take a breath before speaking.
  • If we catch ourselves gossiping, pause. Either change the subject or stay quiet.
  • Begin the day with a few minutes of stillness. Just sit, breathe, and be present.

Even small changes like these can bring big shifts inside.

Letting Spirituality Lead the Way

Sant Gobind Ram Ji says, “Following spirituality doesn’t mean leaving worldly life and become saint (sadhu).” Attending Satsangs or spiritual inspirational sessions will guide us towards the right path with one step at a time we live our worldly life and keep the stage of simplicity and spirituality. Sant Gobind Ram Ji would often say, “Our life becomes a prayer when we live with love, kindness, and truth.”

Coming Home

The spiritual journey is not about turning into someone else. It is about returning to our true self.
Not the version that is overwhelmed or distracted, but the peaceful and strong soul that lives within us. That light is already inside us. It might be hidden under stress or pain or the busyness of life, but it is always there. With a little intention, and with the blessings of great souls like Sant Gobind Ram Ji, we can all walk this path together. One day at a time.
